The ScoutRail model railway show takes place every January and is run by 33rd Oxford (Kidlington) Scout Group.

Each show offers around 10 model layouts, trade stalls and a cafe selling home-cooked food.

Nockingbigg End

30ft by10ft running Narrow Gauge Trains These trains ran between1900 to 1935.



8 ft by 2 ft OO gauge. An imaginary town in the Spey valley set between 1958 and 1970. 


90 Pence Railway

A small mountain themed layout in its own carrying case, bought from an online auction site for 1 Euro.



14 ft x 5 ft OO gauge. Originally built as a modern day fictional layout that is very busy with lots for children to see. It has a clay works and logging yard in a rural setting


Hutchinson's End

A repurposed N gauge layout that was retired when the owner ‘grew-up’ and moved to O gauge modelling. It is now used as a test bed for developing
automation of the Leamington and Warwick Model Railway Society club layouts.


Great Western Society Ltd

The Great Western Society exists to preserve, restore and operate, as a permanent public exhibition and museum, locomotives, rolling stock, equipment machinery and relics of historical operational and general interest and educational value.


Thomas and Friends (G Scale Junction)

18ft by 15 ft G scale/Gauge 1 layout. Our rolling stock is mostly German L.G.B (Lehmann-Gross- Bahn).



5 ft by 2ft 6in Z gauge set in Belgium. The trackwork is Marklin and most of the buildings are by Kibri although there are several scratchbuilt ones. 


St Mary Mead

16 ft x 2 ft 16.6 gauge. A BR(S) branch terminus set in Hampshire or Dorset in the 1950s and 60s. Mainly steam but a very few early diesels do appear.


Lego City

Set in Lego City, mini-figs rush round on the high-speed passenger train and goods, including gold from the mine, are transported from the cargo station on cargo trains based on both Diesel and electric locomotives. 


Common Lane

A small O gauge layout which shows how little space is needed to build an operationally interesting diorama. Shunting is possible on this depiction of a wagon works based on a typical scene near Stafford.


Lynton and Barnstaple Railway - Thames Valley

Support Group

The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway is a non-profit organisation offering narrow gauge train rides at Woody Bay in Exmoor National Park, with one aim: to fully restore the legendary Lynton & Barnstaple Railway.
